new year

happy new year! well, it’s a week into the new year already. during Christmas time, i spent about a week and a half at my sister’s place in Utah. she had her baby girl a couple of weeks prior and was more or less immobile to fly up to Washington where my parents live. it was nice there–colder than i’m used to with the snow and 30 and lower temperature. they kept the heater on so we all stayed warm inside. a couple days after Christmas, many of us got sick with some sort of flu. it lasted all day with us stuck in bed not wanting to move. and the day after was recovering from not eating much or sleeping very good :p other than that setback, the rest of the trip was fun and seeing my two niece’s and everyone was fun too. and i got to try my favorite cheap pizza, Little Caesars, again XD they closed all of them down here in the bay area :( so i was happy to see many of them in Salt Lake City when driving around–and a $5 large pepperoni pizza cooked and waiting under a warmer (all day) is a great deal! sure, it’s not the best pizza i’ve had, but i still like the taste even for being very cheap :p

i flew back home on the 31st of December and had the next day off of work. it’s been tough getting back into the normal routine here at work. i’m glad things have been somewhat slow at the moment. hopefully, it’ll stay that way for a while :)

My Girl

My Girl

My Girl

I bought this Korean TV series, My Girl (마이걸), many months before i got around to watching it. The series was created by the same people who made Sassy Girl, Chun Hyang, and contains a lot of humor similar to Chun Hyang. The story is about a girl who is good at lying, and finds her self caught in a situation where she is asked to pose as a guy’s long lost cousin. The guy’s family believes the girl is the long lost cousin, and many funny situations occur. throw in the ex-girlfriend and another guy, and it’s a recipe for a great romantic-comedy series. i really enjoyed this series and laughed a lot at the various situations the characters get themselves in. the serious parts are dramatic, but predictable in most cases. i liked the main characters a lot too. and they all seem to have endless wardrobes–i think the characters never wore the same outfit more than twice. i recommend it to fans of romantic-comedies :)

12/9/07

it’s been a while since i made a post here. work’s been keeping me busy like usual. so what’s new? my sister had her baby the other day :) i’m going to go visit her and her family this Christmas. it’ll be nice to see the new baby girl.

my cousin and i are setting up a 2 week trip to South Korea in February :) i got the days off from work, but still waiting on my passport to arrive. my cousin knows some people over in Seoul and a couple other cities there. the plan is to hopefully be able to stay with them while we’re there. i’ve been learning some Korean from a book i got, but the language is pretty complex. my cousin knows the language very well from his church mission he took. and i know 2 of the people we’ll be visiting know a decent amount of english. it should be interesting communicating there–i’ll probably be asking my cousin to translate everything XD

busy busy

it’s been busy… mainly at work. then it got busier when my manager/senior web developer got a new job. (i’m not complaining–i’m happy for him :) ) so it’s been busier. the work i can handle. it’s just the deadlines tend to be pretty crazy. during my free time at work (which is nonexistent at the moment), i’m learning a bunch about php. i’ll be needing to know it more since i’m the one and only developer (at the moment) now. oh yeah, a co-worker bought me lunch today (Korean BBQ!) for doing hard work XD thanks again!
i got to see my mom for a couple weekends in early october :) it was fun hanging out with her and my relatives at my aunt’s house. one of the saturday’s i visited, we went to a renaissance fair. it was fun. i’ve been to a few of them before. most of the people dress up in renaissance era outfits and they role-play a lot which gets some laughs. the first 3 times i went, my aunt and uncle and their family would all dress up, and they lent me clothes to dress up also. but this latest time (with a different aunt and uncle) we didn’t dress up. i kinda felt out of place in “modern-day” clothing :p there are a lot of small shops set up under tents that sell outfit items, trinkets, and other things of that “era”. there are knights and the queen that walk around and demand attention hehe. they also had a big jousting show set up complete with armored horses and knights in armor. it was fun watching the show. i took some video of it that i’ll try to get up soon. i think it’d be fun to dress up and go to another renaissance fair with a friend or two who also would enjoy it :)
