Couple or Trouble

Couple or TroubleI finished watching this Korean Drama not too long ago. It’s called Couple or Trouble, or 환상의 커플. It’s by the same writers who made Sassy Girl Chun Hyang and My Girl. The story is about a very self-centered rich girl who, after causing much trouble to a hard-working guy, loses her memory. The guy sees the girl at the hospital, and decides to get revenge by telling the doctor’s she’s his girlfriend. He wants to put her to work as a caretaker/babysitter at his place for his nephews. There’s lots of comedy in this one, and i liked the main characters a lot. Most of it is predictable, but it’s still fun :) Yesasia did the subtitles and release of this TV series, and they did a very good job of it too.

My Girl

My GirlI bought this Korean TV series, My Girl (마이걸), many months before i got around to watching it. The series was created by the same people who made Sassy Girl, Chun Hyang, and contains a lot of humor similar to Chun Hyang. The story is about a girl who is good at lying, and finds her self caught in a situation where she is asked to pose as a guy’s long lost cousin. The guy’s family believes the girl is the long lost cousin, and many funny situations occur. throw in the ex-girlfriend and another guy, and it’s a recipe for a great romantic-comedy series. i really enjoyed this series and laughed a lot at the various situations the characters get themselves in. the serious parts are dramatic, but predictable in most cases. i liked the main characters a lot too. and they all seem to have endless wardrobes–i think the characters never wore the same outfit more than twice. i recommend it to fans of romantic-comedies :)

Racer Dee!!

this is my favorite episode of Dexter’s Laboratory: Mock 5. it’s a parody of the old Speed Racer cartoon. i was remembering it today and did a search and discovered someone had uploaded the video biggrin.gif check it out laughing.gif

sassygirl.jpg I ran across this series recently while looking at yesasia.com for better movie prices. The description made it sound like a fun light-hearted romantic comedy, but as a full TV series. I decided to take a chance and purchase the TV set. Sassy Girl, Chun-Hyang, or 쾌걸춘향, kept me hooked through all 17 episodes. It’s mainly about the relationship between Seong Chun Hyang, a very smart, strong, but poor girl who has to work part-time just to eat, and Lee Mong Ryong, a stubborn kid who comes from a rich family. The two go through a lot both with each other and 2 other characters. There’s plenty of comedy and enough drama and climactic moments to keep you hooked smile.gif
