spent last night and most of today changing around the art section to use a couple plugins i found for MovableType. with the new plugins i changed the template pages around so that now in each art entry there is a smaller thumbnail version of the image that you can click on and view a larger popup image. this should speed the load times a bit. also, the side links now are a bit different too. instead of the square thumbnail link, there is a smaller full image link for each entry (after you expand the catgeory). if all this makes no sense, then just head to the art section and start clicking around on the side links
